Literature Text

"Perhaps the reason why our treasure is reacting to her presence is that Bayonetta is the one that it is looking for," Ippei realized.

"'It'?" Ash began out of confusion.

"Many years ago, a battle was waged between two Legendary Pokémon in Kalos," Nihei began. "These were Xerneas and Yveltal. Once the battle came to a draw, they both reverted to their dormant forms."

"We are uncertain about what had happened to Yveltal," Ippei added. "But we eventually found Xerneas's dormant form and considered it a treasure of ours. I believe it was waiting for someone whom it feels it can trust, and that seems to be you, Bayonetta."

Bayonetta pointed to herself in surprise.

"Me?" she asked.

"If all goes well, Xerneas will reveal itself to you," Ippei told her.

Once outside, Ippei handed Xerneas's dormant form to Bayonetta. Upon her accepting the small tree, it shined blue and floated up into the air. Everyone watched in awe while there were flashes of white light that came from the item. Eventually, what emerged was a giant blue and black stag-like cervine Pokémon. Its eight horned antlers were a pale blue with dark blue protrusions and the sword shaped legs were black and pale blue. This was also the color of the inverted V mark on its body. Once it opened its blue eyes, the X shaped pupils gazed at the world and the amazed people around it.

"Xerneas..." Ash said with awe.

Bayonetta immediately looked her up in her Pokédex.

"Xerneas, the Life Pok
émon," the dex explained. "When the horns on its head shine in seven different colors, it is said to be sharing everlasting life."
In the manga, Y befriended and caught Xerneas, whom she nicknamed Xerxer. Malva has Yveltal in the manga, this is also the case in "Soul Release".

I thought Bayo would get Yveltal.
